The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet The death of Romeo and Juliet was tragic, and could have been prevented. The author of Romeo and Juliet is William Shakespeare. The play's name is The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Some of the main characters are Romeo, Juliet, The Capulets, the Montages, and Friar Laurence. The main characters that had the most influence on Romeo and Juliet's death were the families, Romeo and the Friar. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play about teenagers trying to make their relationship work but, they hit some bumps on the road. First the Capulets and the montague influenced the death of Romeo and Juliet. The families could not get along because of a feud from many generations ago. A quote that supports my strongest point is on and the quote is “O Romeo Romeo! Where for art thou romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or, or if thou will not, be but sworn my love, and i'll no longer be a Capulet”(2.3.65-80). Also romeo made poor decisions by not really getting to know Juliet before he decided he loved her. Also he was not very smart because if he was than he would have kept his cool when him and Tybalt were arguing. Finally the friar helped them and led them to there death by marrying them and not telling there parents. There were many things that could have happened to prevent Romeo and juliet's death, some of those things are the families could have simply got along, or Romeo could have been smarter about everything, finally the friar could have just simply not married
