What Is The Topic Of The Movie A Civil Action By Jan Shlichtmann

In the film A Civil Action it is displayed how people put themselves before others for their own benefit, but there are few who will go out of their way to help those in need. In the film a lawyer challenges a major leather production company that has been dumping on the lands of a residential area. I chose Jan Schlichtmann to write about, because he was the main person behind the whole persecution of the leather company. He sought out to bring justice to those who were harmed by the dumping and made it his duty to make things right.

Jan Schlichtmann is a tenacious lawyer that works for the right causes. Throughout the film he was persistent, and wasn't willing to give up. He is a tall and presentable looking man, so he does have a strong presence in the room. He is very intuitive and he can pinpoint significant details that are not too obvious. He does not have the strongest voice in the room, but when he steps up to the plate he presents his case for why he’s there and what he is going to do.

Originally from the start of the film he was addressed by several families about their situation. He then used the information gathered from the families and presented it to the courtroom. When he starts to meet with more people from the leather company, he started to find flaws in their company and how they dispose of

Schlichtmann had a strong relationship with the families that addressed him about their situation. They believed him the whole way through and they trusted him to carry out the case. I felt that he had the strongest relationship with Mr. Love out of all of the families. He sat down with him and listened to all of the the tragedies that have occured in his life. There was a complete change in the relationship between Mr. Schlichtmann and The Judge. At the beginning there was little no respect from The Judge to Mr. Schlichtmann, but as the case unfolded and started to lean Mr. Schlichtmann’s way he then started to realize that he was a the real
