What Is The Tone And Mood Of The Poem By Robert Cormier Poem Analysis

The meaning and tone of the poem is that Ha is nervous and the meaning is how she uses the color to describe the skin color and the color of the sauce then there served at lunch. One way I can tell she is nervous is how she describes the room ‘’ bright and noise’’ ( 143 Lai ). A room that bright and noise can be really nerveracket and that can be very true about a new person espulliy someone not from this country. Other reason is Perspective , Ha’s outlook on the food ‘’ the pink sausage inside bread…’’ (144 Lai ). She called the food pink . she most likely does not like the food if she is calling it pink . this goes with our nervous because now the food is weird for her and this can add up . all that can make anyone nervous . the last reasons

“When I have Fears” and “Alexander Crummell” are two similar yet very distinct examples of how human emotions can be expressed. Both readings specifically touch on the idea of doubt and how it is manifested in Keats poem and Crummell’s story. The tone, and mediums used to tell each of the author’s stories encourage the reader to form an opinion on which they feel is more convincing when portraying the emotion of doubt. Du Bois proposes doubt as a temptation in the story and life of Alexander Crummell, whereas Keats takes somewhat of a nihilistic view to display his doubt in being unable to accomplish his life goals. Although Du Bois discusses a story that is incredibly thought provoking and successfully presents doubt, it is very limited to the males…

Christian belief and practice in the poems by Ron Rash and Robert Morgan cause tension among human beings due to the human experience differing from how belief makes it out to seem. Belief causes the world to seem more perfect than what is understood through human experience and leads one to believe nothing bad can happen to a good person, although experience dictates that it happens daily. Tension can arise in many ways such as from experience dictating that earth’s vices are alluring and addictive, while belief interprets it as foul and rotten. Belief can also cause the world to seem much easier and just than what an individual may learn through human experience. One may too find tension in the ethereal and unseen aspects of belief that doesn’t…

More traditionally poetry is used to share details of a poet’s thoughts, emotions and views on different things that he or she has experienced. The author of the poem “Sixteen”, Chelsea Rathburn, seems be using it to share experiences she has had facing motherhood as a single parent but Chelsea then explains that it is a persona, kind of like a fictional narrative. Chelsea is a creative writing professor at Young Harris Collage and is marred to James Davis May. To me, the artist is setting a mood of happiness due to the colors the artist chooses to use. In the art work, the artist uses colors that make you feel that the artist is enjoying life. The artist is trying to tell everyone that life is beautiful, for everyone, in many different ways. I believe this is what the artist is saying because they used many different elements such as, color, shape, and line to create a happy mood to the painting. When looking at the painting it was easy for me to determine that people could take the actual meaning of the painting in many different ways, but all the different meanings would be happy due to the elements…

Growing up as a hispanic woman in America has always been more difficult than I thought it was going to be. There were many times where I felt excluded, judged or like I am not as good as other people. Throughout my life this has always affected my happiness because it was never as easy as I wanted it to be. With that being said, many people that are also a different race also struggle with this problem and this affects their wellbeing as well. I came to realize what a struggle being a person of color is to other people as well after carefully reading a short story by Junot Diaz called “Wildwood” and a poem by Claudia Rankine called “From Citizen Six” where both of the characters were treated unfairly, and ran into issues on a daily basis because…

Poems can make people feel countless ranges of emotions. The sonnet “Back Road” by Bruce Guernsey goes from a cold, melancholy day to something out of the ordinary. The story is almost similar to a joke with a setup, building up the scenario, expecting something to happen, then the punch line. The set up as follows the main character is driving and alongside the road, then sees children huddling together. Building on the picture of the story the poet mentions that it is a winter morning at the moment it is evident by the kids gathering for warmth.…

According to scholar, J. A. Sharpe “The most efficacious way of dealing with a witch, at least in the eyes of contemporary officialdom was to accuse her before a court of law, and a number of cases in our sample show how bewitched people gained relief after their tormentors were sucked into the legal process”(Sharpe 11). The court systems during the European witchtrials changed drastically over time. In the beginning, hearsay was an important source of concrete evidence. Into the later Stuart period, hearsay became a less reliable source of evidence and witnesses as well as material evidence became more and more essential to convict someone suspected of witchcraft.…

John Frederick Nims’ “Love Poem” is a poem describing someone he loves. The first line of the poem, “My clumsiest dear, whose hands shipwreck vases”, at first may be interpreted as the start of some form of insult. This line also intrigues the reader to continue and explore what Nims has to say about his “dear”. Though the poem begins by depicting some negative attributes that his love possesses, Nims doesn’t forget to describe her positive attributes, “Only with words and people and love you move at ease”. Overall the poem uses different elements of poetry to portray the idea that although his “dear” has many imperfect qualities, he loves her despite of them all.…
