Critically acclaimed for official selection, audiences award, and best film this movie is one that really makes you question juvenile reform camps. "Coldwater" is a somewhat predictable drama that is punishing and almost saved with good intentions. PJ Boudousqué Starrs as the lead role Brad Lunders, who is sent off by his mom and her boyfriend for drug dealing to Coldwater. The camp is run by a retired war colonel in the wilderness. Many teenage boys who have pushed their parents to the point of giving up on them now pay the price. The price they pay in Coldwater is greaterly enhanced to a tremendous extent. The program helps juveniles connect feelings associated with their violent behavior and to identify alternative ways to respond (“Specialized Correctional Treatment,” 2017). Youth involved in the program are required to reenact their crimes and to play the role of both the perpetrator and victim. This specific technique is portrayed in the novel Last Chance in Texas by John Hubner (2005); within the novel Corinne Alvarez–Sanders explains, Role plays are especially effective with adolescents because they are close to their childhood. Kids have fewer barriers and defenses. I never saw hardness inside these kids, I saw it as a level of clothing that could be removed.…

Then there are some characters that weren’t too fond of Nino Brown. Such as Scottie Appleton played by Ice-T. I believe Ice-T performance was great, he plays a cops very good in whatever he is playing that cop in. Ice-T personally in the movie has it out for Nino brown (Wesley Snipe) for multiple reasons such as he’s a huge drug dealer and Ice-T Is a cop, he’s killing the community with drugs and ice-t lives in that community and the biggest of it all Nino Brown killed his mother as a part of the gang initiation. Another cop played was Nick Paretti played by Judd Nelson, in the movie he really didn’t have a vendetta against Nino Brown honestly cause he was white and he didn’t live in the community that Scottie Appleton did, but he was still…

Weeping in the Playtime of Others In reading Weeping in the Playtime of Others: America’s Incarcerated Children by Kenneth Wooden, I learned about the devastating, heartbreaking truths about how corrupt our juvenile legal system is. I knew there was probably some violence within the facilities, but I didn’t realize the extent of the torture and physical abuse the youth experienced within in the juvenile correctional facilities across America. I was shocked by the amount of youth that weren’t actually what we would consider criminals. These children were incarcerated because they were emotionally disturbed, mentally handicapped or because they ran away from home to escape a bad situation.…

Correctional institute is that penal institution where juveniles are held temporarily so that they learn to behave. After watching the video, it is obvious that such efforts are not getting any successful and young offenders keep on hurting themselves and fighting with the police officers to leave that place. Studies show that there are very very few programs which may have some positive effect in the prevention of future delinquency like the “Future soldier program”. In future soldier program, the physical power and mental strength of juveniles can be used to turn them into law enforcers rather than law breakers. But, there are very few kids who can and who want to participate in this program.…
