The Maze Runner Book Review
The Maze Runner, written by James Dashner is a science fiction book about a group of boys who are sent into a small courtyard, called the Glade inside a huge maze. Thomas, the main character, is sent up into the glade with no memory of his past, and becomes a glader. After he is sent there things began to change. For years the gladers had worked to try to solve the maze, but the maze changed each night making it almost impossible to solve. In addition, there were insect-like robots, called Grievers, that lurked around inside the maze and attacked anyone they came across. None of the boys know anything about the creators nor why they were in e the maze, they knew only they were given enough food to survive, and escape was of utmost importance. A girl was soon sent into the glade with a note telling that she was the last one. This change in routine motivated Thomas. There was such strong suspense once I passed the halfway point, I couldn't put it down. The book is rich with description, the writing made you feel like you were there with him, you could feel his emotions. “He reached down and rubbed his ankle absently, a brief look of pain flashing across his face” (Maze Runner 99) During the action filled segments of the story you could see it happening in your head, “The effort was exhausting; Thomas heaved in every breath, felt sweat cover every inch of his skin.” (Maze Runner, 123) The description was so strong it sucked me in and I couldn't put it

Especially, when you read 150 pages in one night. I'm really not a person that's into running, like at all! Which is kind of weird, because that used to be all my brother thought about, but we are not the same person really whatsoever. So anyways, just the fact that it was running kind of made the story boring for me. Which at the same time is kind of stupid, because it's probably the best book, I've ever read.…

One of the best parts about this book is that it just takes off where the first book (the maze runner) ends. He then goes through even more test that are terrible like in the first book. But now he know that it is to help the world.…

In other words, order is dependent on people in society trusting each other and working together. Contrary chaos is a state of complete disorder and confusion (Oxford). A society in chaos is a society in a state of mutiny and anarchy which is why chaos will always overthrow order.…

As far back as I can remember, reading has always been a tremendous part of my life. Growing up, my mother introduced reading as one of the most important skills I could learn. Throughout my childhood, my entire family constantly incorporated reading into my daily schedule by helping me complete word searches, reading books, or rehearsing the ABC’s. Every night before bed, my mother and I would read a page out of a children’s bible book called Blessings Every Day as opposed to the classic Green Eggs and Ham. Reading has taught me how to exercise my imagination, how to effectively communicate with others, and relieves my stress.…

The same thing happened with the other teenagers living in the Glade, the center area of the Maze that has four walls that encases it and separated from the Maze. When they finally escape the Maze, they realize that their world was artificially constructed by a group of agents and scientists who were putting these teenagers through a trial (Dashner).…
