The Book Thief was written by the Australian author Markus Zusak in 2006. The book is about a girl named Liesel Meminger that lives in Nazi Germany during World War II. She lives with her foster family, she has an obsession with books, and so she steals them from everywhere. This story is set in a fictional town called Molching, just outside Munich. Liesel and her friends live in Himmel Street. In this book the point of view is in first person. Death is the narrator and he watches over Liesel through the whole book and watching and analyzing her every move.
