The main reason for these problems were the involvement of other people. One example of this happening was when Hermia's father Egeus immediately forbidden their love. This is shown when he says, ¨ I beg the ancient privilege of Athens:/ As she be mine, I many dispose of her, which shall be either to this gentleman/ Or to her death...¨ (3 I.i). Right from the beginning it is clearly seen that the couple would have to face some challenges ahead. He gives Hermia the option of either marrying Demetrius whom was chosen by Egeus or facing death. This was because the love between the two was unfortunately one sided. Helena was deeply in love with Demetrius while hale had no feelings for her whatsoever. Demetrius was actually in love with Hermia. Demetrius not loving Helena caused her to to feel self conscious about herself. She says to herself, “How come her eyes so bright?
