Less Than Loathing - Makoto x Reader

Ever since you started going to school at Iwatobi High, there was always this weird boy who was nice to everyone. You HATED that kind of person; you hated Tachibana Makoto with a burning passion. You hated how his face would light up whenever he saw you, you hated the way he would shout “good morning!” to you, you hated how he always looked so perfect without even trying. You hated so much about this boy that you could go on forever.

You walked through the front doors of the school, glaring at everyone and everything that passed by you; all you wanted was to be left alone so you could sit in quiet.

"[Name]-Chan! Good morning!!” An obnoxious voice rang out from behind you and you tried to ignore

You quickly turned around and began to walk the other way.

Makoto quickly grabbed his stuff and chased after you. “[Name]! Wait! I’m trying to give you your homework!!”

Seeing that he was catching up to you, you broke out into a sprint. You quickly dashed around a corner and down the hallway.

You knew that Makoto was athletic, but you never thought he would be such a fast runner. He caught up to you in an instant, now running right next to you. “Y-your… Homework..” He panted slightly.

Though your muscles were screaming for you to stop, you pressed on further. “I… I don’t want it!” You shouted loudly and ran up the stairs.

“If you don’t take it… You’ll get a bad grade!” He followed you, his long legs easily clearing the staircase.

You were quickly running out of stamina; you felt like you were going to pass out any second. “Maybe I wan’t a bad grade!!”

Not buying your excuse, Makoto caught up to your pace. “T-then why did you do it?”

Practically gasping for air at this point, you managed to speak. “S-shut up and go away!!!” You shouted

He finally… stopped? You looked behind you and saw the stray sheet of paper and an empty hallway. You took in a deep breath, finally feeling at ease. Sitting down on the floor you grabbed the sheet and set it on your lap. "What’s wrong with me…” You groaned, trying to calm your beating heart. You tried to figure out what was going on with yourself lately; it was totally confusing and a total drag. Scooping the sheet of paper from your lap, you stood up and began walking you slowly walked up the next flight of stairs towards the roof. You were already late to your class, so why not just skip it…

The wind blew through your hair and you gagged as some of it got caught in your mouth. Suddenly a bad mood washed over you, making your inner conscious crumble into darkness. You growled and kicked the wall in anger.
"Why do I always get so... Stupid when I'm around him..." You asked yourself a question you well knew the answer to. Of course you didn't hate Makoto, it was very far from it actually; you had a major crush on the boy. But being the stubborn girl you were, you refused to let it show. You sat down on the cool concrete and let out a sigh; being a girl sucked ass… You looked down at the wrinkled paper in your hands; there was a note at the top right corner.

“Thanks for the help [Name]-Chan~! I owe you one!

It was like any other school day, coming back from lunch, sitting in class, and talking to friends; however, it all changed once I arrived in my American Studies class. Mrs. Forbs was standing in front of the class waiting for everyone to quiet down. The class was a bunch of sixth graders, so it took a while to make us be silent. The day felt weird for me, I had my same robotic schedule but for some reason something didn’t feel right. I thought it had something to do with the food I ate for lunch, I would be prepared to head down to the bathroom or even nurse if that was the case; however, what happened that day no sixth grader would be able to prepare for.…

It was a pleasant spring morning at Challenger School. A calm breeze blew, and the sun shone brightly upon the Earth. Students ran out of the classrooms at top speed as soon as the bell for recess had rung, but I sighed heavily as I walked towards the playground with a heavy heart, my mind deep in though, my body heaving. I was in shock at the recent turn of events, and I was so angry that I felt like leaving my school forever. My friends and I would, at this time, have been playing tag in the playground, but now I not only had no hope for this, I had no idea of what else to do during my recess for the rest of the year.…
