100 years history of suit
1920s. Suit seems to be a timeless piece of men clothing. However style of suits not always had been the same. Let’s start our journey by looking that had been trendy in the 20s. It could be said that 20s has been the start point for a modern suit. Because suits became more acceptable as everyday wardrobe rather than purely official clothing, thus it is no surprise that in this period jackets became shorter than before as it made suit much more comfortable to wear. Naturally the most formal ones at that time still had swallow-tails and had been in traditional dark black color.

In the 60s. men fashion change dramatically and some say interestingly. As man a more “feminine look” became not only acceptable but trendy as well. Some more notable changes included trousers as well as jackets becoming a lot tighter also it started to be more acceptable for men to have long hair. But “feminine looking” men is nothing compared to trends which has started in the 70s.
1970s, In this era drug usage had skyrocketed. As it seems, this might be an explanation why man started to dressing up as they did. Colors like yellow, red or orange became trendy also some unisex appeal like the same style as man suit for women become popular and on top of all that men wearing platform shoes had been considered normal.
1980s. After all the 70s madness fashion industry have made a U-turn and got back to similar looks as it had been popular the 50s. Fortunately more traditional looking suits became popular once again. However industry does not seemed to stop right there in the 80s and out of inertia continued to make men suits looking more minimalistic ally. The prevailing idea had been the less there is anything on the suit the better.

Starting a new millennium it seems that fashion industry made a brief stop overviewed that is done wrong and that it did good in all these past years and made concluded how man suit should look like, this look had not longer been minimalistic and seemed to perfectly solved an issue of how man can dress both every day every day and on special occasions.
2010s. Most recent period by many means is just a continuation of a trend started in the start of the millennium. Few more important to mention details is that suits became more personalized it is rather than on for fits all suit. Industry started to market both regular fit and slim fit jackets to better satisfy needs of younger generation as well as older
