In class today, the motif composed by my group-members and I was centered around the recurrence of blood throughout the play. Blood was a symbolization of guilt, physical, yet hallucinatory, evidence of the sins committed by characters in the play. This is exemplified in on several situations such as when Macbeth illustrated a great panic regarding not being able to wash the blood off his hands following Duncan's murder. Furthermore, this is exhibited by Lady Macbeth, who claims of not being able to wash the blood off her hands after the many deaths that she played a significant role in, although it was not actually present. In the end of the play as well, as Macbeth was decapitated, the blood that spilled was a final showcasing of the "bloodshed"
