The new wave of healthcare is urgent care facilities which cut down on emergency department visits and can pull potential patients out of the companies market. The urgent cares that are in the LGP market are part of the competitors company and are opening urgent care centers around hospitals which are decreasing visits through the emergency departments. Not only are they affecting LGP’s emergency department visits they are referring patients to facilities in their company, which in turn are taking business out of the LG market. Local job fairs are very important to obtain employees who meet the needs of a growing company and even more important to obtain nurses to take care of patients. LGP lacks job fair participation by having minimal attendance at these events. The cooperation in which LGP is affiliated has an outside source in which human resources manages the recruiting aspect for the LGP market. With the focus being on larger facilities the smaller local colleges that are surrounding LGP are missed in the job fairs. The main focus of the market is to hit the larger job fairs. The recruiters who attend the larger job fairs are unfamiliar with the more rural facilities and focus on the larger facilities. By showing a lack of interest in the local colleges surrounding LGP nurses are not seeking employment at LGP.
