What Is The Purpose Of Government

I beleive that the purpose of government is to do for the citizens what needs to be done. Others may say that it needs to protect people from one another but i disagree. Here is the purpose of government from my stand point.

The reasons i belive that the main purpose of government is to help the citizens with what needs to be done. The first and foremost reason is that not all people, or groups of people, can do all things for themselfs. Examples of this would be that the slaves could not free them selfs, small buissnesses could not break the trusts of the barons, and familys may not always be able to settle disputes in civil manors.

Jefferson belived that we should just keep men from fighting & injuring each other. in my opinion the government
