Medication errors lead to the accidental injury to patients. As medication errors take place largely at the administration stage, the responsibility comes down to the nurses as they take part in the concluding steps in the administration of medicine.
This paper will discuss and identify the problem of medication errors within the health care system and the poor nursing practice with medication administration identified in video scenarios 1 and 2 and further discuss the relevance to Standard 1 of the Registered Nurse Standards for nursing practice.
