The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a story about Ponyboy Curtis who is the narrator and the protagonist of the story. Ponyboy is 14 years old and lives with his two older brothers Darry and Sodapop. Ponyboy’s parents have been killed in a car accident eight months before. In this story there are two different types of Gangs the Socs and the greasers. The Socs live on the West side of the town. The Socs are: rich kids, wear madras, drive corvettes, and get everything they want. Cherry (Sherri), Bob, Marcia and Randy are all Socs. The greasers live on the East side of the town. The greasers are: poorer than the Socs, nice, kind and caring people, and love to hangout in gangs ( groups of friends or families). Ponyboy, Darry, Johnny,
