The updated food guide makes it easier for the public to measure what one serving counts as since it gives examples for each food group. Also, it is very specific towards informing appropriate balance of each food groups according to gender as well as age groups. However, Canada’s Food Guide fails to consider people with health problems such as diabetes. For instance, if a diabetic person were to meet the recommendation of high consumption of vegetables and fruit, this may contribute to their illness since fruits contain sugar. Lastly, it also fails to mention products that the public should consume less of such as junk food and carbonated
