What Is The Origins Of Thanksgiving

Introduction
This literary unit is for the third grade and will study the origins of Thanksgiving. The goal of this unit is for students to learn the history of Thanksgiving, how it came about, and who was involved in the first Thanksgiving. This unit will look at Thanksgiving from the viewpoint of both the Pilgrims and Native Americans. Students will learn about the origins of Thanksgiving, what Pilgrim life was like upon arrival in the New World and how working and learning from the Native Americans helped them survive. This unit is designed so that students can learn about the origins of Thanksgiving through history, games, poetry, and essays on their perfect Thanksgiving.
