Origins of the State Farm goes back to 1922 when it was formed by Mr. George J. Mecherle as an auto insurance provider in Illinois. Mr. George J. Mecherle founded the State Farm because he saw it unfair for the farmers and people living in rural communities had to pay the same insurance costs as the insurance costs paid by the people living in the city of Chicago. Soon the Stat Farm’s business idea started gaining traction and by 1928, decentralized itself into branch offices which significantly increased its reach in far and away places.
