One of the most conflicting topics in the music industry is the idea of the death of the album. It is evident that sells of artists' albums are plummeting, but that does not necessarily mean that the album itself is coming to an end. Artists creat albums as "artistic statements, and to build a body of work artists cannot only be proud of, but build tours around" (G.M.). There are also still fans that want a solid object to hold as a memento. It makes them feel like a part of something bigger. These fans are even willing to dip into their own pockets to support their favorite musicians' production of an album. Therefore, it is still reletively unclear if the album will cease to exist due to dropping sells or if the few loyal fans will be enough
