The plot of the book, Wonder is about Auggie and how he over takes his fears of going to school for the first time. ‘Plot’ means the plan or main story of a novel, film, play etc. For example, on page 310, it quotes ‘“Thank you for making me go to school,” I said quietly. Style means, a particular way in which something is done. For example, because it is written like 6 dairies, it makes it easier to understand what is happening and why the characters did what they did. Like when Jack punched Julian in the face, we understood why that happened because it showed us Jacks point of view. This is how the style helps me to relate to the book, Wonder, by R.J Palacio.
4. Theme
A theme that has been explored in the book, Wonder is family. ‘Theme’ means the main subject that is being discussed or described in a novel, play, film etc. For example, Auggie loves his family very much. His family play a big role in his life. On page 3 it quotes, “Via doesn’t see me as ordinary. She says she does, but if I were ordinary, she wouldn’t have to protect me as much. And Mum and Dad don’t see me as ordinary, either. They see me as extraordinary.’ This is the theme that has been explored in the book, Wonder.
