The Crucible by Arthur Miller is a play published in the early 1950s. Even though that is 67 years ago, the play is a piece of text that can help modern Americans. The famous Spanish-American philosopher, George Santayana, once said: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” The Crucible can teach modern Americans to not listen to the loudest voice they hear, but to listen and take into consideration every voice. The media is a major part of modern America and as time goes by it will only continue to grow in it’s role in American lives.
