Many people have a lot of different believes and each person has a unique way of thinking. There are many different ways that peoples’ interpretation varies from story to story. The Masque of the Red Death is a story written by Edgar Allan Poe in the 1840’s. For the one hundred and seventy-five years it has been released to the public, people have fought over what the story symbolized. This story symbolizes the seven stages of life, birth, youth, adolescence, adulthood, old age, imminent death, and death itself. This story resembles a life of anyone who was brought on this earth and there are many different reasons supporting this belief. This room symbolized adult hood and the middle of your life. This room is the very peak of life and from now on it turns into a downward decline to the very end. In the fifth room it was a pure white room which is believed to be the room for all age. White is a combination of all colors in the spectrum, so it is rumored that this room has all the stages of life in one and get one step closer to when it all ends. Next followed a violet room which wasn’t a very popular room to visit due to the fact that this room represented imminent death. At this stage of life people become aware that they are only one step away from death. At the end of it all there was one room. It didn’t match the others.it had more decorations, different colors in the room, and it emitted a very eerie vibe. “It produced so wild a look upon the faces of those who entered that there were few of the guests bold enough to set foot within the room at all.” (P. 9). The color of the room was pitch black, but it had a deep blood red colored window. This combination of colors put people on edge. All the people in the castle knew this room was different from the others. There was a clock that was old and tall, it rang every hour and everybody would become silenced for the seconds that it rang. At midnight a tall figure in a white cloth entered the building out of nowhere and stood in the last room. This figure was death itself, many believed he was the cause of the red death and that he was doing all the killing. The prince of the castle went to confront him and died immediately.
