society. In this novel, Montag faces several conflicts. The first conflict is when he starts to read books. In society, books are banned, yet Montag goes against society and reads them anyway. The second conflict is when Montag kills Beatty. Montag kills Beatty because Montag doesn’t want beatty to find faber and kill him. “...and then he was shrieking blaze...no longer human or known”(113). The third event is when Montag runs away from society. Montag runs away because he doesn’t fit in with society.
The main conflict, man vs. society, is resolved. The first conflict is resolved by Montag getting rid of the books. Montag planted the books he had left and put them in other firefighters homes. The second conflict is resolved by Montag killing Beatty. Montag killed Beatty so that Beatty wouldn’t find and kill Faber. The last conflict is resolved by Montag leaving society and finding men, who live near the river. These men are just like Montag. Some things I liked about the book was how that Ray Bradbury kept on giving more conflicts and plot twists. The first one that caught my eye was when Montag and Clarisse met. I liked how Clarisse kept on asking Montag questions. The other plot twist I liked was how he read books to the three women. “He began to read in a low, stumbling, voice that grew firmer...his voice went out across the desert”(96). The thing I didn’t like was how the book ended. It left you to wonder with tons of questions. I learned from the novel that people can turn on you a lot faster than you think. One example is when Montag’s wife leaves him. “She shoved the valise in the waiting beetle, climbed in, and sat mumbling,’poor family...oh everything gone, everything, everything gone now…’”(108). This book shows what life is coming to and how soon it will be
