What Is The Love Triangle In Carson Mccullers Ballet Of The Sad Cafe

In the book the “Ballet of The Sad Cafe” author Carson McCullers tells a story about a love triangle. Between a 6 foot muscular women named Amelia, a hunchback who is always in someone else business named Cousin Lymon and a handsome bad boy named Marvin. The story stars with cousin Lymon comes walking down a dirt road to Miss Amelia’s house saying that he is kin to her. She lets him in her home something she never does unless she plans on hurting someone or making a deal with them. Over the course of four years cousin Lymon stays with her. They become inseparable they spend every moment together.it is clear she cares for him you could say everything she does is for him. He follows Marvin daily he openly mock Amelia. Amelia’s love for cousin Lymon stops her from ever doing anything or saying anything to him. She is a slave to her love for him. Cousin lymon starts bringing around Marvin to the café and even at one point into her home. The tension between Marvin and Amelia becomes unbearable they end up setting up a fight in the café, no one spoke of the fight or the day it was just known. Once the fighting began there was punches being thrown left and right both their faces where blooded and the crowd was quite, most people say the fight did not really start till they locked hands and it was a test of strength. The fight lasted about 30 minutes and right when it looked like Amelia was about to win the unthinkable happen the hunchback had flown across the room landing on Amelia ultimately giving the win to Marvin. Later that night Amelia was in her office crying for the rest of the night while the hunchback was hiding behind the steps the whole time, he later let in Marvin and the broke and stole all of Miss Amelia’s things.
