“The Landlady” Alternate Ending

“Mr. Weaver please have some tea. It is very good.” The landlady looked at Billy and gestured to the tea with a creepy smile plastered on her face. Billy was looking back and forth to the landlady then to the tea. “No thank you I don't like tea very much.” The landlady looked angry at Billy and Billy was taken aback but when she spoke she was as kind as before. “Please, I insist. It's so much better for you than regular tea and tastes scrumptious.” Do I want to drink this? Will it taste like the last tea I had? Oh that tea was horrible it tasted like rotten apples and lemon, Billy thought “I guess I'll have a try” he took the steaming cup the landlady was offering him and when he was about to take a sip the doorbell rang.

The landlady whips her head in the direction of the door. Billy was wondering how this old women could whip her head that quickly but that thought quickly went away when she said. “I wonder who that could be, I wasn't expecting guests other than you my dear Mr. Weaver.” As the landlady got up to see who might be at the door Billy thought what she said was quite weird. He walked toward the stairs and when he was about to take a step up he heard a loud crack coming from upstairs. He looked up and saw darkness and a shadow scurrying around the pitch black ceiling. “Hello??” He asked confused, why would the lights be off? Then suddenly he heard footsteps pounding on the ground from the hallway running his way. A young joy appeared who seems to be fifteen. Why would such a young boy be here, Billy thought. “Hello are you Mr. Billy Weaver?” Billy nodded cautiously. The landlady appeared behind him. “Mr. Crawford have you met Mr. Weaver here? You two will be best friends upstairs with the others. Please have a drink of tea.” The landlady picked up a cup and handed it to Mr.
