Rap music argues for the values and importance of culture representation and freedom of speech. Scholars debate Rap’s represents; violence, demeans women, and destroys America’s values. Despite many aspects of the stated themes maybe true and contribute to the negative stereotype; however, there is another side to rap music that needs to be uncovered. Rap artist may often have explicitly vulgar lyrics; however, they are intending to grasp listener’s attention, and bring awareness to the country's social problems. Rap is a channel to speak freely about views on political issues and by doing so, it engages teenagers to become concerned and aware of these issues. Rap music can both promote success and demonstrate self-destruction. Research reports that Rap has mixed reviews when it comes to America’s society.
