In this article, a key idea that I read about was how integrating technology into the classroom is sometimes put on pause because of the teacher’s knowledge and experience with technology, pedagogy, and content (TPAC). The world is constantly changing and that is including technology. It is a teacher’s responsibility to change and grow with these changes that can be so important to student’s lives and help them to better their future and education. Technology is a complicated thing, but integrating it into the classroom betters the students because they are learning in a more fun and engaging way, rather than reading word-for-word from a textbook. Integrating technology into the classroom could start at watching a simple video clip about a topic or go all the way to doing a whole unit straight from computers and tablets.…

Over time our understanding of how technology is effecting the minds of those who use it, specifically children, has changed. In 2002 Clements and Sarama spoke of the wondrous things that technology was doing for children in the classroom. They talk about how computers have brought students together instead of isolating them (p. 341). And it is surprising how quickly young students can pick up on the fundamentals of using a computer.…

Joanne scamonio states that Technology lends itself as the multidimensional tool that assists that process. For economically disadvantaged students, the school may be the only place where they will have the opportunity to use a computer and integrate technology into their learning, and it would open up a great window for them to educationally explore the web and fill their minds with knowledge. The impact that technology has had on today’s schools has been quite significant. This widespread adoption of technology has completely changed how teachers teach and students learn. Teachers are learning how to teach with emerging technologies (tablets, iPads, Smart Boards, digital cameras, computers), while students are using advanced technology to shape how they…

“How many inches are in a foot?” A relatively easy question, yet you will see many people reach for their phone to get the answer. Is this due to their lack of intelligence, memory, or maybe their lack of confidence regarding their answer? Regardless, one cannot deny the large role technology plays within our society. Calculators, computers, and even phones have become a large part of our society, especially in our colleges.…

A Gallup survey said student engagement has gone up 55% in the past decade due to the introduction of technology into the college classroom. Students are learning in different and more personalized ways than ever before. There are several ways that this differentiation can be achieved by teachers but technology is one way that can be very effective if used well. For the past two school years, I have used different online classroom suites that allowed students to do all of their work digitally.…

Well, can an average student have too much technology in a classroom setting? According to Susan Pinker from New York Times, she believes that students that gain of more technology in a classroom takes a regular student and decreases their focus. Which then leads to the decline in test scores. But I do disagree with Pinker because technology has an untapped potential in the world of education. If the teacher is trained well with the technology, I think technology can improve a classroom because it can be used as a great tool to teach kids in a more modern way.…

Different people will think differently about the following question: should we have technology in every single classroom? Surely, to say that we should have technology in every single classroom without any exceptions would be close minded, would it not? Personally, I do not believe that there should be technology in every single classroom. Many people will believe that technology is the only way for human kind to advance. While that may be true in some regard, that is not always the case in classroom.…

Schools have slowly started to bring technology into the classroom, at the same time teachers have made rules and regulations where the teacher restrict the use of technology in the same classrooms for the fear of it being abused. I personally have come into contact with different schools with different looks at technology and how it is used in the classrooms there. When I was at the school where they have allowed or given the students access to technology, students seemed to really like the idea of having the accessibility of being able to have their textbooks and school work on the laptops, tablets or even mobile phones. Before the only time the class got to use technology was when they went to the computer labs and that time was very limited.…

Students’ education has changed over the years and the reason for it is technology. For hundreds of years teachers have used books, paper, and pencils to teach their students, but for the last few years technology has become part of everyone’s life in one way or another. Students and teachers are getting their technology through the classroom and it has impacted student learning. Technology has positively impacted student learning because they have more motivation, self-esteem, are completing complex tasks and help others more, while it has the negative impact of poor work and shorter attention span to tasks. One way is that technology has increased students’ motivation to learn and their self-esteem in what they learned.…
