Summary: The Health Benefits Of Exercise

I have talked to and tried to persuade individuals into taking an interest in physical activity before. Although, I focused more and the physical aspects of what exercise could offer, I was unaware of the abundant psychological advantages, also I talked more about anaerobic type of exercises, mostly weightlifting. Of the people that I tried to pursued into developing a exercise schedule only a few stayed with, however I think if I was better educated then as I am now I would have been better at persuading those individuals to keep up with their exercise. Deployments can be very difficult and chaining both physically and mentally to handle, and the military tries to give the service members resources to keep them entertained. This type of feeling is normal called the “runners high” typically because 30 percent of frequent runners have said to experience these feelings on their daily runs. Essentially, these feelings lead to a deeper appreciation of the world around them, a renewed sense of well-being, and an overall better out look at life (Weinberg & Gould, 2015, 419). Now, the “runners high” is not only associated with runners, anybody who exercise constantly can experience these feelings during or after their workout. Even though anxiety and depression are common mental health problems in America “"exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and chronic diseases and increase feelings of well-being, relaxation, and overall good health” (Weinberg & Gould, p.407).
