Frank is an industrial engineer who is specialized in motion study. Frank is especially obsessed and fixated on discovering the most productive and effective approaches to finish tasks in life and regularly utilizes his kids as subjects for his analyses. His wife Lillian is a psychologists who incorporates human emotions into the art of the mechanics of motion study. This reading concentrates principally on Frank's impact on his children's childhood.
As the kids grew, they are taught to behave uniquely in contrast to other children in similar families. For instance, they all need to come running when the father whistles. While this may appear totalitarian, Frank made it look playful and oftentimes slipped them treats upon gathering. Frank felt that this exercise would boost the management skills of the kids. The Gilbreth family has regular family council meetings. In this council Frank is the Chairman, Lillian is assistant chair person and kids are the committee members. He is always pushing the children to advance academically, staying ahead of their peers. Frank does this by surrounding the children with educational games and by creating learning opportunities for them. He is also very involved in their school life, sometimes he even accompanies his kids to their classes. For example, when Frank goes to enroll five of the children in school, he tells the principal that he would like to meet the teachers, explaining that he wants the children placed in higher grades as their mental ages exceed their physical ages thanks to the complete home training program he has devised for
