What Is The Height Of A Basketball Hoop

Improved Essays
The height of an NBA basketball hoop is 10 feet above the ground. The backboards are 72 inches wide and 42inches in height. Another thing is the inner rectangle on the inside of the backboard that you are told to aim for when shooting which is 24 inches wide and 18 inches tall. Also all basketball rims are 18 inches in diameter. The actual basketballs used are about 9.55 inches in diameter. This leaves around 8.5 inches for the ball the go into the net. In our lab I was investigating: Does the height you drop the ball affect how it will bounce? When we were doing this lab person #1 held the meter stick, and person #2 held the bouncy ball when person #3 was ready to record the height the ball bounced person #2 dropped the bouncy ball and told the height the ball was dropped and the height the ball went to. Our materials were 3 people, a meter stick, pencil and paper, and a bouncy ball. As we dropped the bouncy ball from a greater height it bounced about half of the height we dropped the bouncy ball from. For example when we dropped the bouncy ball from twenty centimeters the ball only bounced to 16cm.…

Women Playing in the NBA Basketball is an extremely popular sport that is played worldwide. The game consists of different leagues like the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The different leagues were created based on the players' age group and gender. There is a populated belief that women should be allowed to play in the NBA. It is my opinion that women should not be allowed to play in the NBA: Women's bodies are built differently than men's bodies; there is already a league made specifically for women; and it might give the other team an unfair advantage/disadvantage in the games.…
