One thing that caught my eye is the notion of the “glass ceiling”. The “glass ceiling” being how women are limited in the workforce. Essentially “women have the motivation, ambition, and capacity for positions of power and prestige, but hidden barriers keep them from reaching the top.” (Lorber 35) This interested me because I knew it has gone on in the past, but never really considered it a problem of today’s society. As I am reflecting on part of the book, I now realize that this can and does, in fact, to today’s world.
I feel that there are many examples of this, but one that seems to stick out to me is the lack of a woman president. We cannot change the past, and if we could I am sure that women would have had a different history. I am very
