The eyes are our main perception of the world. We can feel with our hands, smell with our noses, listen with our ears but the eyes capture the essence that fills in the blank that’s missing. When we smell something delicious it’s hard to picture what the smell is until our eyes lock on the target and instantly it comes to mind. I call the eyes “The gateway to the impossible” simply because I can’t see myself without them over the years I tried to picture things without looking at them and it’s just a blur in my mind.

The people that were tested in the experiment were roughly mixed ages ranging from 20-65 years of age, yet the ones who noticed the change were the younger generation. The author believed because they were younger they were able to relate to their own age group when the one asking for directions were around their age range meaning they could relate more to the individual. Personally, I can relate to this it’s like trying to talk to someone who is 50 years older than me about current music genre while they were listening to rock & roll for example like The Who I’m sitting here thinking “that is one bad band name” but in his/her generation that was the music. It’s hard to relate when there is such a big age gap. In Experiment #2 the same process was used just like Experiment #1, but the confederates were wearing construction worker uniforms and no door. The same exact questions were asked nothing changed, but the clothes they wore & type of age group it was aimed at which were all younger in age between the ages of 18-24. Surprisingly only 4 out of 12 noticed any difference after the test was conducted unlike the first experiment.
