Food is powerful. It is the cleanser of the spirit, the nurturer of the soul, and the symbol of self-love. But only good, true, real, and plentiful food can bring about both mentally and physically energy. Many people take for granted that it is necessary for us to eat to live by eating food that do not provide any nutrients or energy. Granted, it may seem strange or bewildering that food can have such a strong impact on the world, but the truth is it can. Food itself has an influential impact on the world around us. This is about 800 million of the populations. In the U.S. alone 16.2 children suffer from hunger, and over 48 million Americans do not have the resources to obtain enough nutrition. But facts are just facts. As a Nigerian-American, with family in Nigeria who struggles to eat one meal a day and who went to school with students whose only meal was the one the school provided, I have seen the malnourishment kids and the wasted, stunt bodies. I constantly witness the pains of my classmates and I see fragileness in my loved ones eyes. Hunger is a bitter disease that ruins lives; it spirals lives downhill. Their hunger always only leads to sickness, hospitalization, and slow recover; on top of that students who suffered from hunger are less like to learn at a normal speed. When we let people starve we allow the world, its intelligence, and the future to die. These are the people whose cry no one hears, yet, they are all around us. If change is not implemented the world is in grave danger. Hunger will rapidly increase as constant droughts lead to the reduction of water supplies and harvest fails in countries all over the world.
