Incidents of bullying are always eye-opening because of the many effects it has on the bully and the bullied. It is a terrible thing that ispreventable. People who believe they have more power over another will use it to their advantage and take control of a victim, significantly damaging their self-esteem. This despicable act is becoming increasingly more common in schools, in workplaces and in sports. Bullying needs to stop and has awoken many to take action to prohibit and prevent this awful action. When I was 12 years old, an incident occurred that would forever change my life. As a shy, quiet boy sitting in class, I couldn’t help but notice the constant bullying of a fellow classmate. Every tear that dropped from Jake’s eyes was like the sound of my heartbeat pounding against me, reminding me to take action. I did not want to become the bully’s next target, nor did I want to become tst friend. I just wanted to help! Day by day, Jake’s mood got more depressed, more downcast, more dismal. At first, I thought everything would be fine. However, turning my back would only make things worse. On a day where it seemed as if te increasingly injurious isolation could not get any worse, I figured I had to do something. I sat down besid the gloomy boy and asked if could do anything to make his day feel at least a bit better. His miserable face suddenly morphed into a puzzled one. He claimedthat nothing was wrong and was confused as to why I was beside him. Jake was so used to the constant routine that he did not think anything was different from the day before. I could not allow him to think like that! An immediate action would be vital to put an end the bully’s actions. Around the clock the hands clicked. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Time was running out.
