What Is The Difference Between Samurai And Knights

Samurai and Knights Imagine the medieval time period, the 1400s, in the blazing sun, a fully trained soon to be Knight, European warrior, was kneeling before his father. At that moment his father would have placed the mighty sword, that would’ve finally made him a full Knight at war, in his hands. A drop of sweat fell down the Knights face as he imagined the disappointed look on his father's face when he told him that he was going to break the contract, and not follow through with becoming a Knight. Although in Europe the Roman empire had just fallen in the late 400s, dividing the continent and making it very weak, this Knight chose not to help fight for his country. Which was ok for a Knight because they had a choice. On the other side of the globe, Japanese emperors, rulers, were challenged by the rise of clans, group of united people, and fell to pieces like Europe. Samurai's code was called Bushido, which was long and complicated, the code says within a Samurai's heart they will keep peace but on the outside their weapons are ready, they are always ready to fight when needed and they're always doing good, even sometimes without a master. On the other hand, Knights are fully dependent on their leaders, their code was called Chivalry. This code was shorter and came 130 years after Bushido, Chivalry stated Knights had to be brave strong, and loyal even in the toughest times (Document E). This tells us that the codes are different because Bushido was long and strict or complicated and Chivalry was short and sweet. Another difference in their codes was that Knights had a contract for loyalty, and loyalty for a Samurai was hereditary, which means it was a passed down expectation from generation to generation (Document B).
