Both Achilles and Beowulf are great warriors. They both strive in bravery and also have their names immortalized through great deeds. However, there are some clear differences between them. Achilles is a great warrior who strives to have his name immortalized. "I will no longer fear you as before, son of Peleus, though I ran from you round Priam's town three times and could not ace you."(Homer 74-76). He is among the best, if not the best, warriors in his land and has proven time and time again. However, he has quite a bit of help from the gods and his mother is a god too, making him nearly invincible save for a small spot on his ankle. Beowulf is also a great warrior who strives to have his name immortalized and remembered through the ages.
