I ask myself if the Death Penalty was effective in deterring crime. I read about the crime rates, the psychological mindset of the unfortunate people that are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and on impulse make choices that put them in the situation of being tried as one of the premeditated killers. There are inconclusive reports of religious or moral convictions that add fuel to the controversial issue. Considering all the facts, I believe that the death penalty should be available for our legal system. This penalty would hold the criminals who commit the extreme crimes accountable for their actions. At the same time, we should reform the execution process and establish definitive policies that would set requirements for a speedy conclusion. Our legal system should recognize that the verdict was given and after thorough examination of the facts, the criminal was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. It would be inhumane for the convicted person to have the sentence
