The tickers we match with the position file of the custodian (Schwab) to make sure the accounts are reconcile. In Schwab they use Z tickers at the end of the of the symbol in the position file, but if you look at the cost basis in Schwab it shows the X ticker.
An example is Galbreath's account ending in 4671. If you click on the "position" tab in Schwab the symbol ticker is VADWZ, but when you click on the "cost basis" tab in Schwab it is VADAX.
I've also updated the cost basis for the security VADAZ/VADAX.
