In The Giver by Lois Lowry,Jonas’s community is Dystopia.A Dystopia is an illusion of a perfect world.First,the is Lack of Knowledge,sameness,and complete control. The community has a lack of knowledge because each family only has two books.Only the receiver of memory has outside knowledge.That puts the citizen’s intelligence level to a minimum and could affect their future.The children have a limit on their education as well.The Elders give the teachers the knowledge of what they want the kids to know.
