Personally, I define conflict as being a situation between individuals or oneself, that have yet to reach a mutual agreement. Recently, I was involved in a conflict between a married couple that had been arguing for almost a week. The disagreement was soon to escalate into physical attack and I was able to disengage both parties before violent action could occur. The minister in me tends to gravitate toward the collaborative style of handling conflict. The goal is to evaluate both sides of the quarrel and then apply a spiritual based resolution. By the end of this course I will have gained more knowledge on the methodology of conflict approach as well as the ability to apply what I have learned to everyday circumstances.
