“Lamb to the Slaughter”, a short story and teleplay written by Roald Dahl, tells a story about a wife murdering her husband and how she acts to hide the truth. Dahl made some changes later in the teleplay to show more details and for audience to change their view on Mrs. Maloney and Patrick. In the written version, the audience does not know what Patrick tells Mrs. Maloney that makes her kill him. However, in the teleplay, the audience clearly hears that, “I want to divorce with you, there’s another woman that I want to marry”(teleplay). The reason why the change may have occurred is to show Patrick depicted less as a victim, instead he is more of a heartless man worthy of his dreadful fate. Another change made to the teleplay is that Mrs.
