December 7, 1941 the Japanese have attacked Pearl Harbor. For two hours Japanese militants let loose a hail of bullets and explosives on Pearl Harbor, though it lasted a short amount of time the attack was devastating. In a mere two hours, 20 ships and 300 planes were destroyed, 2,000 lives were lost, and 1,000 were injured. This attack was the beginning of four years of imprisonment for 120,000 Japanese-Americans. In early 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which allowed the construction of 10 internment camps located all over America.
