STEP 1: The big idea in Philippians 2:5-11 is that our attitudes should reflect Christ, what we do should be like him and that we are not equal to him. These verses also portray the message that we should know the Lord is Jesus and we should worship and follow him because Christ displayed continually his selfish humility. Philippians 2:5 states “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus,” and 2:11 states “and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” which directly tells us our attitude should reflect Christ and that we need to recognize Jesus is Lord, and bow to him for he is our Lord.
