They are one step closer to achieving the ultimate goal they have set for themselves and are also maturing through the stages of life, gaining more responsibilities that will eventually shape them into well-rounded adults. However, this wasn’t the case for my eight grade graduation. When I realized that graduation was coming up I, like every other eighth grader in the school, was extremely excited and ready for what was supposed to be one of the greatest moments in my life, but it wasn’t. Far from it actually, the week before my graduate date, which was on …show more content…
We had to close the shade on the window because it was so bright outside. Half way into the movie, the principal comes into the class and tells me my mom is here to pick me up. I knew something was wrong at this point because my mom never randomly pulls me out of class. I get to the main entrance and my mom has tears running down her face and snot is everywhere. At first glance, I thought she looked ugly, disgusting, and needed to get herself together, then I realized for her to be like this something bad had to have happened and it made me worried. When we got in the car I asked mom what was wrong and she wouldn’t answer me, so I keep asking her until she finally answered me. She told me that she couldn’t say the news twice so I had to wait until we picked up my brother. After we picked up my little brother, she told us what happened, my aunt Tasha had just passed away this morning. She drove a school bus and she was on her way to pick up the kids when she died. I couldn’t believe it, I had just talked to her three days ago, how was she

Looking back on it, on how I got to where I am. I don't know how i did it, when you run into something ,with the power to knock you down- you get back up! I've considered myself a sort of mellow guy, but I can be very intense. It's funny because you can't tell by looking at me. Most people say they can't read me, but I think i am a fairly simple guy.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

I just didn’t care enough about school then. I asked my teacher at the time, Mr. Bernard, why he gave me a passing grade when I clearly deserved a fail. He said, “I don’t want to see you back here next year, your smart enough to graduate, you just need to put…

At school registration, just a few weeks before the starting of school, I made the decision to make the “graduation” cliff not as horrible or terrifying. That day I made the sudden decision to sign up for some honor classes and dual credit senior classes, only being a junior. (THE CALL) I knew the upcoming year was…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

My freshman year was one of my craziest school year. It came from fake hall passes, to skipping in the restroom, and acting all bad by getting referrals. I remember my ap secretary always used to call me “Diablo” just because i always got in trouble and she said i used to drive her crazy. I just never cared about the consequence of skipping so much, good thing I never got caught. Meeting new friends and new attitudes and a little more of responsibility and to be honest waking up so early every single morning was not that fun.…

I never really paid any attention to the saying keep your friends close but your enemies closer, that was until middle school. I rode the bus everyday, and I made sure I made friends with the people on the bus realizing that I will be stuck with these guys for a while. That's always been my mentality just stay under the radar and survive, but in this case I wanted to see if maybe this time I could change, even turn over a new leaf. Nobody knew who I was, just a another student passing by in a school of fishes. Around the last quarter of 8th grade year, I went on the bus as usual, and said hello to my friends, but weirdly enough nobody said anything back, I felt as though I was in the twilight zone or something.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…
