There comes a point in every young man or woman’s life where they have to branch out on their own and find themselves. Usually this dramatic, yet necessary point is heading off for college. For most adolescents that face the daunting task of leaving their parents’ cozy home, it can be very challenging. There are some things that I have experienced and will experience in the years to come. First of all it is sad seeing your family drive off into the sunset with everyone in your family in the suburban except you. You may think it’ll be a blast, and it will but you will cry and so will your parents, it is a natural thing. The second thing I have learned is that college really teaches you time management and various other skills that will be useful for the rest of your life. Last but certainly not least, is that it opens up your eyes to a whole new world. Now you have endless opportunities to work hard and make a name for yourself. These activities play a vital role in getting you a job after college, connecting with people who are going through the same phase of their life, and the most important, fun! Yes fun, this is the most important part of college. Any sane person will lose their mind if all that they are doing is schoolwork. College is about going out, meeting people and learning from your mistakes. Trust me I made a few mistakes, although not life altering they have put me in a position to learn and thrive in a different stage in life. . You can stay out as late as you want and more importantly, do whatever you want. These choices do not come without payoffs or consequences but they develop you into a more wise and well-rounded
