What Is The Benefit Of Year Round School Essay

Year-round schooling should not be introduced to any districts in the United States, this would take away students time they spend doing other things besides school. Students may be involved in clubs, or in a sport. Some sports start as soon as the summer starts, and if students were going to a year-round school they would miss out on many opportunities that they would have if they were off for the entire summer. Any activity or event that a student could participate in during the summer would be affected by this year-round schedule (NEA 1). A student who partakes in a very demanding sport, such as baseball, would need the off time in order to train and improve. Students who play sports in the summertime wouldn’t be able to to play as many games because they would be busy during the morning and afternoon while at school. This year-round schooling schedule would also affect the families of students that enjoy traveling during the summertime. A lot of families use the long summer break to their advantage and strengthen their family bond by planning a vacation to different states and countries (NEA 1). They do not have much information on the year-round schooling schedule seeing that very few schools in the entire United States have implemented it. There is a lack in results as to how students benefit because a handful of schools in the United States are part taking in the year-round school schedule. In order for any district in the state to partake in the year-round schooling schedule, it would have to be decided by a mass amount of people. A committee would vote on the new major changes to the school schedule, then it would be appointed to a higher committee and so on until it is either rejected or passed and introduced into that specific district’s
