There were many great composers throughout the period of 1600-1750 A.D. which is known as the Baroque period. I am going to be researching specifically into the composer named Giovanni Battista Sammartini. Giovanni Sammartini was born sometime in the year 1700-1701 in Milan, Italy. Giovanni passed away January 15th, 1775 also in Milan. He spent most of his entire life in Milan, Italy. Giovanni was the son of a famous oboist of the time named Alexis Saint-Martin. Charles Burney, a British musician and historian, said that Giovanni was the organist at the convent of Santa Maria Maddalena from 1730 to 1770. He was organist for a few other churches as well throughout his life.
Giovanni played the Oboe in the orchestra called the Teatro Regionale
