What Is The American Dream Speech

I don’t begin my speech today with the classic introduction, “My fellow Americans.” I am speaking to more than just Americans today. Many of you born and bred in this nation, embodying America as much as a hot apple pie. Others, like myself, are from a mixed background, recalling our American identity as much as those of our forefathers. Some have the unfortunate chance of arriving because of circumstances outside of their control. Many do not yet call themselves Americans because they still hold on to the hopes of one day returning home. While these stories are each unique accounts, they are quintessentially American and remind us the American Dream and experience is not a universal story, but a collection of victories that uphold our traditions of diversity and triumph. I am moved by the efforts of Americans to amend the Constitution to allow a graduating 18 year old to be elected the first Independent to President of the United States. The work done has transcended political divisions and made us trailblazers on the path of freedom once again. My message has focused on …show more content…
The global century we inhabit beckons a growth in the view of the world we have. Americans should strive to develop a global outlook, remembering we share this planet with billions of other people. The diverse communities I grew up with in Miami opened my eyes to the similarities we all share. It also pointed out those inimitable differences which make us all unique characters define America more than anything, like a fast-moving scene that cannot be recorded by a camera. The challenge of labeling what is America should lead us into unknown spaces, whether volunteering abroad or visiting the town over the hill to meet people who expand the idea of the world we think we know. The discoveries brought on by these new experiences ought to be employed as we define the next for years through selfless
