The American Dream is “that dream of land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” (James Adams)
James Adams definition of “The American Dream” is believed to be still be achievable today. This belief can be proven true in multiple ways. The American Dream has changed dramatically over the years but can still be achieved through higher education.(Kimberly,Amadeo) Having a higher education can enhance work ethic ability in any individual. Another important key to living the American Dream is hard work. Being a hard worker will aid a person’s future plans. While hard work is a must for achieving the American Dream, working hard without working effectively will get you nowhere which is why having higher education is highly important.(Kimberly,Amadeo) Also time is a great key for achievement. Improving on tasks at hand or on one’s self and mindset can help as well as the improvement on the ability of how things are done. When improvements are made the work is more appreciated. There may be some people who might not be able to make it to the finish line however it is still possible to get there. Anyone can achieve the American Dream no matter what their background is. A person can start off poor and then become wealthy in the future just like John D. Rockefeller who was poor growing up but his future path lead to him being the wealthiest man alive(Joe,Mont). The second wealthiest man was Andrew Carnegie who was also poor growing up but found a good job in which he made millions(Joe,Mont). In conclusion the American Dream is still alive but you have to work for
