Yes, many people believe that students should be trusted that they will not research inappropriate sites. There is only one problem with that, the world is not a perfect place and there are many immature kids in it. In 2015, 12 Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology in Education say, “The wealth of great information on the internet is easily overshadowed by the amount of bad things present as well.” Yes, there is good information that can be accessed through devices, but there also is many more inappropriate information that come with …show more content…
In 2012, William J. Oehlkers and Cindy DiDonato comment on this topic stating, “Technology does not substitute for labor, and efforts to improve the management and deployment of human resources have generally not succeeded.” This is extremely true. Many people do this though. They think just because they can use technology they do not have to work as hard to get the same product. This is the kind of thinking that hurts people even once they are out of schooling. In 2014, 12 Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology in Education states, “Computers make it so easy to find answers that students barely have to look for them. This may result in them having poor study habits and developing a lazy attitude toward their education.” Not only does technology give them bad study habits it can also lead them into invalid sources or false facts. This then runs them into the problem of getting in trouble for plagiarism. Lets not forget how much easier it is made for students to cheat with the internet at such easy access.

As technology increases new pieces are being used around us, more specifically, in the classrooms. Some people believe that technology such as laptops hinder our learning efficiency while other argue that they can help students. The introduction of laptops to the educational process is controversial to many teens. Even though laptops removed the book factor, they are dampening the learning process, because it creates a distraction, they are difficult to use and it only helps assist the users in finding greater ways to cheat, which is why sticking to pencil and paper is the correct way to go about learning. Students are given a laptop with enough internet access to enjoy any movie, article, game, etc.…

There are a few methods of cheating in both cyber and traditional schools, however those enrolled in cyber courses have the internet and lack of supervision as an advantage. "The earlier students could memorize questions or even take screen shots, something easy under most operating systems” (Rowe). Some students spend more time cheating rather than studying finding the answer easier by sharing answers, googling and/or using cheat sheets. The ability to take screen shots, a picture of what is on your screen, and send it to friends who are taking the same courses have…

It has shaped the younger generation into who they are and it will only continue to take over future generations. However, there are certain aspects of the world that should not change, and that includes having textbooks in schools. The world is not ready to advance into higher technology and replace textbooks with tablets because that is education in and of itself. Tablets are expensive and easy to break; considering the state the world is currently in, there is no need to place even more of a financial strain on the people. Lastly, technology is both physically and mentally unhealthy.…

Online learning is easier for everyone involved less gas is spent on taking kids to school, less money is spent buying school supplies and other school necessities. Now I am not saying online learning is for everyone, but it can be if we put our minds too it, who knows maybe one day we won 't even have public school, and everything will be online. I can see the parents concern as to their child falling behind or not getting the same kind of education because it is through a computer, but it is still a real person that is teaching the content, not some robot. Have you ever tried online education, what side of history are you…

Before students can use a computer effectively, they will need to be instructed on how to use the computer and that can take some time. Computers make also make it so easy to find answers that students barely have to look for them. In a personal interview a friend said, “We use computers to do things faster even if it isn’t the best way” (Vazquez). Even when it comes to answering simple problems on homework, many students seek the answers on a computer instead of trying to find the answer in a book. While having an easy access to information may seem like a great thing, it can become a real problem too, computers have made cheating easier than ever.…

Their bypass of the filters opens the Internet, not only for distractions, but for sensitive information that would normally be monitored by their parents. Since the Internet is not as useful in primary education and allows access to sensitive information, it should not be used in primary…

Some devices are useful, like computers, but schools should not be constantly worried about getting the latest technology for their students. Cheating is easier when there is more access to websites, but if too much is blocked then doing work can become a hindrance. Technology is used everyday by students and usually in a recreational manner. Switching from recreational use to educational can be difficult. Teachers cannot be trained fast enough in current technology and when they finally are many students find it outdated and boring.…

It is easy to blame school that deals with limited to no funding, adequate teachers, supplies, or the necessary equipment for their students, but schools are not to blame. The system and government that does not provide schools with necessary funding in order to help their students achieve are to blame. “Politician or academic administrator in this decade, it is almost mandatory to call for technology in our schools, not because of any proven link between technology and learning --- there is really no consistent evidence of such a link… but because technology is seen as a potentially quick and cheap fix for the perceived problems in our educational system” (Moran and Selfe 2000: 99). Those individuals that have technology readily available and choose to use…

It has been proven that technology is distracting as shown in the quote, “Many studies find that the use of laptops and smart phones by some students in a class room is a distraction not only to the student using the device, but to others as well” (Griffin, 5). The author, Audrey Griffin, also states in her article that the “Use of technology affects one’s ability to pay attention and comprehend the material, leading to lower test scores and grades” (5), which means that by using technology we are only creating bigger obstacles for ourselves. Technology was presented to the classroom as a way to help students learn more efficiently. If it is used correctly in the classroom, then it will become an aid to students, but if not, it will only create more distractions and challenges in today’s society. Even though home life, guidance, and technology continue to be a problem in today’s educational system, there are many resources out there that were not available in the past that make receiving an education possible.…
