In the documentary this family of three were always on the move, moving from shelter to shelter as their mother was looking for a cheaper place where they could live a somewhat relatively stable life, but the thing is the effect this constant motion has on the children which has a large contribution on enlargement of the gap: changing brusk of schools, constantly missing school for long extended period of time. This result in the children being held back or put in low level class due to their level being low which result in them missing out on great opportunities at school, not being focused on by the teacher or negatively recognized because of not paying attention due to hunger, hardly be in challenging classes due not having time to study because of some other issue, all this cause them to miss out on opportunities that could have enable them to be open to adequate and better resources and to acquire some good skills that will permit them have better chances in their competition for a better
